Today felt like a Monday wrapped in a Wednesday on a Sunday night and I just couldn‘t figure out why I was feeling so off.
The best way to explain today would be by quoting myself.
Once a week we have a corporate department meeting with every HR division in the company present via Skype. Everyone was commenting on how weird the day felt and I very much so agreed.
So, in front of my the entire company, including the President and VP of Administration I proudly stated;
“Today really does feel like the strangest Friday!”
Everyone stared at me blankly, then burst out laughing. A coworker near me looked at me with concern and informed me that it was, in fact, Thursday.
And that’s how my whole day went. (I should probably mention I embarrassingly made this statement later on and was, again, corrected by the same coworker with even more concern. I acted like I was joking..)
I ran late to work this morning.
I didn’t get as much done today as I had hoped.
I missed an online webinar due to a time difference.
I didn’t get to seem Derrick before he left for his night shift.
I tried to take Lilly for a walk, we didn’t get far.
My workout was challenging but I didn’t really challenge myself.
However, my absolute favorite part of today was a 20 minute yoga flow I did before getting ready for bed. Some days, yoga is the only answer, I swear!
Back to the workout.
It was a fully body workout I did twice through with a quick 15 minute HIIT cardio workout. Like I said before, it was definitely challenging I just wasn’t in the right mindset for this sort of workout!
Listening to body cues is incredibly important for fitness progress. Because my usual rest day is on Fridays I tried to push a workout my body needed a break from today which was not as beneficial as it could have been. Next time I will listen to my body and when I feel I should rest, I will do just that 🙂
Tomorrow I will start the day with a longer yoga flow before work so I can come home in the evening and relax with the pup!
The menu tonight was light and quick and perfect for an off Thursday night. I made a delicious baked lemon garlic chicken and asparagus dish that hit the spot! I made enough of it to enjoy for lunch tomorrow with some brown rice as well. I am already excited for tomorrow afternoon!
