The last few weeks have been busier then ever at work. Spending the majority of my days feeling stressed makes it even more important for me to eat healthy. I am definitely and anxious eater, so if I don’t come prepared I will eat all.day.long.
This week I didn’t have to shop as I threw together a batch of meals from foods I had on hand.
Since we were without internet the week before, I will share that weeks items in place of this weeks!
Below I have posted what I bought that week, the cost, and my menu;
Breakfast: Boiled Egg Whites + Cooked Oats + Fruit
Lunch: Tuna Salad on Wheat Bread + Extra Leafy Greens + Avocado
Snack: Fruit + Raw Nuts + Yogurt w/ Honey and Chopped Nuts
Dinner: Chicken + Brussels Sprouts + Sweet Potato [I already had frozen chicken and brussels sprouts at home]
In my cart-
1 Package of leafy greens
3 Sweet Potatoes
5 Cans of Tuna Fish
1 Loaf of Whole Wheat Bread
1 Container of Oats
1 Container of Plain Greek Yogurt
1 Container of Fat Free Cottage Cheese
2 Cartons of Almond Chocolate Milk
1 Carton of Eggs
1 Bottle of Aloe Gloe
Total Cost = $60.00
Total Cook Time (shopping not included) = About 30 minutes. I hardboiled the eggs, threw the chicken and Brussels Sprouts in the oven while I cooked a batch of oats and everything was done within the hour.
I am loosely following a nutrition guide I found on bodybuidling.com. I truly believe that if you try to follow someone else’s nutritional suggestions exactly you will set yourself up for failure. I have very good self control, but even I get sick of eating food I don’t necessarily like because Im told to and will stray from my plan…and not in a good way!
After I walk the dogs in the evening I like to enjoy a glass of detox tea, its my new favorite ritual. I am off to do that now!
I hope you all survived Monday 🙂
