Super Greens Smoothie Bowl

Happy monday!

Mondays are our ‘Sundays’, so a very happy Monday for me indeed.

After a lazy morning sleeping in and playing with the pup I took off for a quick run before it got too hot out.

I’ve had a hard time running recently, anything over 4 miles feels awful on the knee I’ve had several reconstructions on. I have only ran outside a handful of times since being back in Oregon and it only seems to get worse. Today I felt pretty strong, the pain held off until mile 4, and I was able to finish without having to stop and limp!

I came home thirsty and starving and craving a smoothie bowl. A few weeks ago after hot yoga a friend of mine and I grabbed a couple of Acai smoothie bowls, and they were absolutely amazing. I keep telling myself that I need to pick up a bag a Acai powder to remake it, but have yet to.

A combination of today being our shopping day and us going out of town next weekend has resulted in Derrick and I having zero fresh fruit in the house. Luckily I had plenty of frozen fruit to make up a throw together version to handleΒ my craving!

The Smoothie Bowl

Needing a combination of carbs and rehydration after a sweaty run, I threw a combination of fruits in the blender with some almond milk and coconut water. Topped the whole thing off with granola, toasted pecans, chia seeds, and coconut shavings and it was everything I needed!

Super Greens and Granola Smoothie Bowl


Difficulty: Easy

Serves: 2-4


  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • 1/4 C Frozen Blueberries
  • 1/4 C Frozen Rasberries
  • 1/2 Frozen Peach
  • 2 Scoops Super Green Drink Powder (I used Trader Joes brand)
  • 1 C Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 2 C Coconut Water
  • 1 C Organic Gluten Free Granola
  • 1/2 C Toasted Pecans
  • 4 Tbs. Chia Seeds
  • 4 Tbs. Unsweetened Coconut Flakes



Combine all frozen fruits, super green powder, almond milk, and coconut water in blender until smooth.


Pour smoothie into bowl, top with granola, chia seeds, nuts, and coconut flakes. Serve and enjoy!

This recipe made about double what I had anticipated and is the perfect size for two larger meals or 4 smaller snacks, depending on your needs.Β
